Business Overview:
TwoRedBeans is a skate shop that specializes in customized skateboards and skateboarding apparel. The brand targets the skateboarding community, focusing on unique products that appeal to skaters of all ages. The brand owner desired a logo and wordmark that are simple yet easily recognizable. This aligns with the skateboarding culture, where stickers and bold designs are a staple.
Wordmark Design:
Understanding the need for simplicity and recognizability, I developed a wordmark/logo that is clear and impactful. The design resembles a sticker that skaters would put on their skateboards, emphasizing the brand's connection to skate culture. The wordmark/logo is crafted in a single, bold color to ensure it stands out and is easily visible, whether on a skateboard, apparel, or other merchandise. The single-color scheme ensures that the logo pops and catches the eye, making it memorable and easy to identify.
Design Variations:
In addition to the primary logo/wordmark, I created a secondary version designed which could be used specifically for clothing items. This version introduces two contrasting colors to add depth and visual interest. The contrasting colors enhance the logo’s appeal on apparel, making it a signature piece that stands out. The use of two colors not only provides versatility but also allows the logo to adapt to different styles and fabric colors, ensuring it remains eye-catching and recognizable.
The decision to create a sticker-like design was influenced by the skateboarding culture, where stickers are a popular form of self-expression and branding. The use of a single color in the primary design enhances the logo's visibility and impact, making it easy to spot from a distance. By maintaining simplicity, the design avoids clutter and ensures that the brand's name is easily readable.
